You two are awesome! And I did indeed say I felt Eat, Pray, Love was very self indulgent. I read the “eat” part and then skimmed through the rest. Elizabeth Gilbert does one good thing; she does help a woman she befriends in Bali buy property and build a house so I’ll give her props for that. I’ll probably see the movie just because I like Julia Roberts but I’m honestly wishing I had never requested the book through interlibrary loan (and that’s a hard thing for me to say!).
the book was just ok–self-indulgent sums it up. below is a link for a short talk she gave that had some interesting bits in it. i found it via molly wizenberg’s blog called “orangette”.
